Turn The Ball Over To The Fireman!

Joe Page, one of the earlier relievers, only had two amazing years out of the 'pen. But they were far and away better then anyone else in 1947 and 1949. Both years, Joe helped pitch the mighty Yankees to the World Series crown. Curiously enough, Page was generally among the leaders in losses for relief pitchers. He lost eight games in 1946 (Although, half of them were as a starter), 1947, 1948, and 1949. In 1950, his last full season, he was just 3-7. It makes Page seem like an unlikely choice to be added here, as he was just 13-8 in '49, but he added a league-leading 27 saves.
