The Terminator Said He'd Be Back After 1982, Part 1!

Jeff Reardon didn't take long to make his mark as a closer with the Montreal Expos in 1982. He'd been in the bigs since 1979 with the New York Mets, pitched well, but never really been given a chance. As in, a full season. The Expos put him right where he belonged: In the closer role!

All Jeff did was win 7 games (Against just 4 losses) save 26 games (More than triple his previous season's total) appear in 75 games, and finish 53. His other numbers are good, too. Although it could be argued Reardon was never this good again, he proved he could carry a big workload, as Jeff pitched a very impressive 109 innings that year.

And he'd be back from there: Past 1982 until his 1994 retirement, he save more than 300 more games! And he terminated many a comeback!
