Mace Was An Ace In 1938

Cruel and unfair. But Mace Brown is remembered for giving up Gabby Harnett's home run at the end of the 1938 season, enabling the Cubs to win the pennant eventually. But the Pirates' relief man had quite a year. Why should one home run taint it? And even that wasn't a blown save!

Alas, it might not be Gabby's moment that makes the season bad for Brown. He comes up the leader in a few negative categories when compared to the greats.
