Malone Was New York's Bullpen Man In 1936, Part 1

Pat Malone was no stranger to success as a starter. While with the Chicago Cubs in the late 1920s, all he did was twice lead the league in wins, and once lead the senior circuit in shutouts. But after the 1934 season, in which Pat went 14-7, he found himself elsewhere. The Big Apple. After a so-so 1935 season, he seemed to find his groove the next year. He won 12 games and saved another 9. Alas, this was his last great season, as another so-so 1937 campaign brought an end to his big league career.
