NHL Playoff Predictions: Washington vs. Pittsburgh

2016 NHL Playoff Predictions: Metropolitan Division Finals

Washington (1) vs. Pittsburgh (2)

Washington Will In If: Bradon Holtby continues his strong playoff. He could have cracked after seeing the Flyers come back win amazing shutout wins in games four and five, but Bradon held his nerve. That shutout in game six, right there in Philadelphia shows me he's ready. Oh, and there's a guy named Ovie on this team. Look for him to continue to weave his magic.

Pittsburgh Will Win If: Matt Murray can somehow continue his excellence. But personally speaking, I doubt he can. Based on everything I've read, it seems unlikely that Marc Andre Fleury can return for this round, as he's still dealing with concussion problems. It really is too bad. This has all the makings of a classic, and Fleury could have been the difference maker. Yes, I know about Crosby, Malkin, Letang and now Kessel, plus Patric Hornqvist and Carl Hagelin. However, with an obvious weakness in goal, the Pens are finally up against a Capitals team that is destined to beat the Penguins for the first time since 1994.

My Pick: Washington in six.
