Blair With Us!

Doug Blair succeed Rawly Eastwick as the Cincinnati Reds closer in the late 1970s. But he really was only there in that role for two seasons, 1978 and '79. This despite a great '78 season and winning a career-high eleven games the next season.

He never really was as good as he was in 1978, however. In fact, though he lasted until 1990, Blair never again returned to the closer role on any team he was on. He did, however, win a very good total of 55 games despite only starting five times in his entire career.
