Ace Was Perfectly In Place

Five years after Mace Brown, along came Ace.

Ace Adams was stuck on a poor New York Giants team in 1943. The team won only 55 games (Against 98 losses), which limited Ace's chances of getting saves. But despite all that, he ended up second in the National League with 9. That was just one fewer than Les Webber, who had 10.

However, it was not all a loss year for the New York closer. Ace picked up eleven wins, was named to the mid-season All-Star Game (Ace did not appears), posted an ERA of 2.82, and even got three starts!
