Red-Hot Rookie Ron Davis!

Ron Davis pitched just 2 1/3 innings for the New York Yankees in 1978. New York won it all the next season. The next year brought about Davis' rookie year. He did not disappoint. Not only did he win 14 games, but he also topped the junior circuit in W% (.875). The downside was Ron was merely the setup man for Goose Gossage (Although Davis saved 9 games. Sparkly Lyle had been traded in a deal that brought the Bronx Bombers their future closer, Dave Righetti). He finished 21 of his 44 appearances. Davis would finished forth in the American League Rookie Of The Year voting.
