The Work-Man Is Doing Wonders In 2019, Part 1

Brandon Workman got his start in the bigs in 2013. It got off to a promising start as he went 6-3, pitching primarily in relief. Boston added Workman to their postseason roster and he pitched 3.1 innings, giving an unearned run and taking one loss. However, when the Red Sox tried to use him as a starter the next season, Brandon fell to 1-10 with an ERA of 5.17.

After missing all of 2015 due to Tommy John surgery and then pitching just 18 games at "AAA" ball the next season, it was time for a return to the bigs. Boston went with him in 2017 exclusively out of the bullpen. Workman went 1-1 with a 3.18 ERA in 33 games. Things got even better in 2018. Brandon matched his rookie season by winning six games, losing only one. His ERA climbed a little (3.27).

Then came 2019.

Brandon Workman is really putting it all together this season. Already he is up to 47 appearances. While Workman has finished just ten games, he's put together a terrific 8-1 record.
