The Work-Man Is Doing Wonders In 2019, Part 2

So, what of the rest of Brandon Workman's stats? Through August 1st of this year (2019), Brandon has only five saves (He's blown four). But does that diminish his season so far? Workman also has fifteen holds and has fanned 66 batters in just 47.2 innings of relief work. His WAR is 2.0 thus far.

Brandon has an ERA of just 2.08. Obviously, that number could go anywhere in the next two months. Workman's problem has been walks. He's averaging six per nine innings. That's why his WHIP is only 1.028. Brandon's previous high in walks was 3.7 in 2014, back when he still starting games. Workman walked 3.5 batters per 9 in 2018.
