Robles Emerges As An Angel In 2019, Part 1

Hansel Robles seemed to have difficulty mastering his stuff out of the bullpen.

He started with the New York Mets in 2015. While his W-L record was good enough, he wasn't putting up enough eye-popping stats. At least until now (2019).

Hansel was 4-3 as a rookie on the Mets. He improved to 6-4 his sophomore year. Then, Robles upped his win total to seven in 2017. But, alas, he couldn't keep it going. In 2018, New York dealt Hansel to the American League's Los Angeles Angels. He finished the year only 2-3. But with Los Angeles, Robles posted an ERA of 2.97 in 37 games.

So, is he finally putting it together in 2019? You bet.

Undefeated (4-0) so far this season, Robles had been used in the closer role. Amazingly enough, Hansel's stuff was so good, he even got his first career start! He'll be hard-pressed to match his career-high in innings pitched, 77.2, back in 2016, but he's finished 40 of his 58 relief appearances.
