It Ran In The Worrell Family, Part 2

Tim Worrell didn't reach the closer part of relief pitching as quickly as his older brother Todd did. While Todd was the man in the St. Louis Cardinals' bullpen in his second season (1986), Tim was unable to stay in the bigs through his first three years with the San Diego Padres.

In 1996, Worrell was 9-7 in his first full season on the hill at the big league level. But he got just one save. It was not until 2003 with the San Francisco Giants that Tim got Todd's job!

He recorded 38 saves in 45 opportunities. But the rest of his numbers aren't quite so impressive. A 2.87 ERA in very good. But Tim's WAR was just 0.8. He was not a strikeout artist, fanning 7.5 per 9. His WHIP was high, 1.302.
