Garvin Was Givin' up Nothing in 1980, Part 1

Jerry Garvin was an original Toronto Blue Jay in 1977, but went just 10-18 with a 4.19 ERA in 34 starts. The next year, things didn't get much better for Garvin or the Jays. Then in '79 the team won only 53 games. However, Garvin posted a fine 2.78 ERA in 22 2/3 IP.

As the 1980s dawned, Toronto still wasn't any good. They won 67 games that year, their highest total to date. Jerry was now in the bullpen, but not the closer. But he made a career-high 61 games. He still managed to finish 24 of them. His W-L (4-7) record is a little deceiving.
